Life is Ass-Kicking

It is incredible how life is; we can have the most gentlest of day, the sun shining warmly on our faces, the wind blowing softly against our skin.  The feeling of contentment and calmness and that everything is going well.  Peace.

And then there are the rough days where nothing goes right and we just want to go back to bed. The days we absolutely do not expect— the brutal MMA days.

It truly is a mixed martial arts full-on battle that we were not prepared for. Something that happens to us that hits us from left field, something so incredibly painful and unexpected. It brings punches, kicks, slaps, huge throw downs—and holy, it is hard to get up.

We’re fully beaten, feeling black and blue from being hit by something with such force, like a full-throttled steam engine, racing downhill on the tracks and WHAM!  It hits us.

Know what I mean? We’ve all been in that situation where you are completely out of control and don’t know what’s going to happen or how you will get through it. It brings so much confusion.

We have no other option but to keep moving forward. As hard as it is, somehow we keep taking breaths, taking steps, taking care of ourselves—because the truth is, we have people depending on us.

And most importantly, we have to depend on ourselves because at the end of the day, the only one that can pick us up, brush us off and find the strength is…ourselves.

If you are reading this and you feel what I am saying, I am sending you love.  And I am receiving your love back.

Because life has been a tad rough lately. On many of us.

Take a deep breath, drop your shoulders, unclench your teeth and release your belly. Another big deep breath in and out.

Somehow, someway, we will make it through.

Talking and writing helps.
