Love Never Dies

I was contemplating thoughts of death and energy.  How life can keep going for the ones we love, who have passed to the other side.  And I heard a gentleman talk about the fridge and electricity, never once questioning the power, the invisible power it takes to run the fridge.  How our souls are like that.  And it hit me….  The most poetic way to explain our souls and the never-ending source of love.

So I wrote this and I hope, I truly hope this brings someone peace.

Because love Never dies.
(Credit for this thought is to Rabbi Simon Jacobson)

__________

We never question how the fridge in our home is powered.
We can’t see the electricity, yet it hums quietly,
keeping things cold, keeping things alive inside.

The fridge works,
until one day it doesn’t.
We fix it, maintain it,
keep it going as long as we can—
but eventually, it reaches the end of its life.

Still, the energy remains.
Invisible, yet powerful.

The fridge may be gone,
removed from the kitchen,
but the electricity—the power—
is still here, waiting to be connected again.

Our bodies are the same.

Our souls do not die.
Love does not die.
Our souls are Love,
and Love is endless, boundless—
stretching far beyond the limits of this life.

When we lay down our bodies,
our physical form is gone,
but the energy within us—that invisible light—remains.
It waits, ready to connect again.

We cannot see it, but we know it is there.
We don’t need to believe in electricity to trust it exists.
we just know.

And my baby girl—
I know you are here.
Humming around me,
sending your quiet power into my days.
I can’t see you…
but oh, my love,
I feel you everywhere.
