Holding on to Hope

Sometimes all we have to hold onto is Hope.

Hope that our loved ones are wrapped in peace…
Hope that they are pain-free…
Hope that they are held in love and eternal light…

Some days, that Hope feels like the only thing that keeps us putting one foot in front of the other.

Hope that this isn’t the end.
Hope that when our own wild journey here is finished, we will be reunited; in love, in light, and in a way that makes sense of everything we’ve been through.

And until that day, we hold Hope in our hearts and in our knowing.
We keep making memories.
We watch the sunsets.
We let ourselves laugh.
We allow ourselves to cry.
We find small ways to keep living this life that can, at times, feel unbearably heavy.

Because the sadness can be all-consuming;
thick, deep, and exhausting.
And then, after the tears fall and the shoulders slump,
when we feel too tired to keep trying…
something happens—

A tiny glimmer.
A soft reminder.
A whisper we can’t quite explain.

Hope.

Sometimes, that’s all we have to hold onto.
And somehow, it’s enough to keep us moving forward.

I hope today you feel a little bit of Hope.
