These are the dreams that feel different.
You wake up, and for a moment, you’re almost confused because it felt so real. You said hello. You hugged. You talked. Maybe you simply sat together. Whatever happened, you don’t just remember the dream. You feel them.
It feels as though your loved one was actually there visiting you.
The difference between dreams and visits
We all have dreams where our brains are sorting through the memories and experiences of the day. Those dreams can be strange, random, and all over the place. Most of the time, we forget them because they are simply our minds filing everything away.
But visitation dreams are different.
They stay with you.
They are vivid. Clear. Peaceful. They carry a feeling that is impossible to forget.
When I was younger and my oldest son was about two years old, I had a dream that my brother Kelly, who was in Spirit, and I were sitting on the steps of his old barn, just watching my little boy play.
I don’t remember everything we talked about, but I remember exactly how it felt.
Kelly was laughing. He looked healthy, radiant, and completely himself. At the time, I thought, He met my boy.
Today, I understand it differently.
He wasn’t meeting him for the first time.
What Spirit can show us
He was showing me that he has always been watching over us. That dream is still as vivid today as it was the night I had it.
Another time, I dreamed I was at a family gathering in a place I didn’t recognize. I left the party and stepped into an elevator. When the doors opened on the top floor, my brother was standing there waiting for me.

Together we rode the elevator back down to where our family was gathered. He visited with everyone, laughed, and enjoyed being with us. When it was time for him to leave, we stepped back into the elevator together and returned to the top floor.
As we said goodbye, I wanted to go with him. He told me I had to go back to the party. Oh, I hugged and hugged him. And I cried.
Then I woke up.
The beauty of visits stays with us
It was one of the most beautiful dreams I’ve ever had.
And I had it the night before his birthday.
As I continue stepping into my mediumship journey and learning from some of the most incredible teachers, I understand these experiences in a different way now. I believe they were true visitations.
The challenge is that our human minds immediately try to explain the dreams. We analyze them and question them.
But sometimes, the greatest peace comes from allowing ourselves to believe.
If you’ve had a dream where your loved one felt incredibly real, where you woke up remembering every detail and carrying their presence with you, don’t dismiss it. Lean into it, and better yet, write it down.
Speak about it and keep it close to your heart.
Whether someone else believes it or not doesn’t change what you experienced.
And those moments are gifts.
Have you been visited by Spirit in a dream?
If you’ve ever had a dream that felt more like a visit than a dream, I’d love to hear about it.
Leave a comment below and tell me about your experience. Your story may be exactly what someone else needs to read today.
Because when we share hope, we give light.
